Begin with the source that matches the person's role. A town employee belongs in the Windsor list. A school administrator may appear in state education records. An old resident may require a telephone directory, voter register, tax assessment, yearbook, or obituary index at the library. Property and permit databases work by address or parcel and must not be treated as proof that an owner also lived there.

Search Windsor's Staff Directory

The Town of Windsor staff directory supports both keyword search and browsing. Its category view includes such areas as Administrative Services, Business License, Police, Public Works, and the Town Clerk. The People tab changes the view from departments to named staff. Sorting can group people by category or arrange them by last name.

The screen confirms that a broad keyword can be narrowed by category, then checked again in the People view. If no person appears, call the department shown in the category result or contact the Town Clerk. A records request may be appropriate for an official record, but the directory itself is the fastest route to a current public contact.

What Windsor Directory Entries Show

A Windsor staff entry can identify a department or person, then provide the public contact details posted for that role. Department entries show the category name, an email link, and sometimes a phone number. Person pages may add a title and direct work number. The exact detail varies by entry, so an empty field should not be read as proof that a role does not exist.

Windsor Education Directory Trail

The California Department of Education district listing is the firm official starting point for Windsor Unified. It identifies the district and posts its phone, fax, web address, superintendent, and chief business official. The Sonoma County Office of Education also offers district and elected-official lookup routes. Those sources are more precise for current leadership than a general resident search.

The result ties names to district roles and official contact channels. It does not serve as an alumni list or a full school staff roster. For older students and faculty, the library's high school and college yearbooks are a better fit. The research confirms that collection type but does not state which Windsor schools or years are held, so contact library staff before planning a visit.

Note: Current district contacts and historical yearbooks answer different questions, even when both sources concern the same Windsor school community.

Windsor Government Directory Layers

Some public contacts serving Windsor sit outside Town Hall. Permit Sonoma's employee directory lists names, titles, divisions or sections, email links, phone numbers, and supervisor names. The California Personnel Office Directory, commonly called CPOD, lists state personnel-office contacts with names, phone numbers, email addresses, office addresses, and agency codes. Windsor Record Index Directories

Public record indexes can act like narrow people directories. The Sonoma Web Service index covers official public records, fictitious business names, professional registrations, and CEQA filings. Its official public records index begins in 1964. Older material is held at the Clerk-Recorder office in Santa Rosa, with 1835 through 1979 records on microfilm and digital images and later records on office computers.

The index links a name to a document number. It is not the document itself. County guidance compares it to a library card catalogue and advises trying spelling variations. Recorded images are not posted on the web, so full review may require the office, mail, or an eligible emailed copy. California's current voter file is another regulated directory, not an open resident list. Access requires an approved governmental, political, journalistic, educational, or other legally allowed purpose, while sensitive fields and protected voters remain confidential. Historical voter registrations at the library follow a different research path.

Windsor License Directory Searches

The California Department of Consumer Affairs advanced search can locate regulated professionals and businesses by first name, last name, license number, business name, board, license type, and city. Results can show license status and discipline. It is useful for confirming a local service provider's state credential, but its scope is limited to the boards and license types in the system.

The search form makes city one filter among several. Try a name without the city if a Windsor filter is too narrow, then confirm the displayed record belongs to the right person. Other business directories cover different groups: California SOS bizfile searches corporations, LLCs, limited partnerships, and public filings; the Windsor Chamber member list supports text, distance, category, and A-to-Z browsing; Windsor business licenses are identified as public records; and the recorder index includes fictitious business names.

Windsor Library Directory Collection

The Sonoma County History and Genealogy Library brings several historical people directories together. Its stated local resources include city and telephone directories, high school and college yearbooks, census records, voter registrations, tax assessments, cemetery guides, and indexes to vital, probate, court, and naturalization records. Exact city-directory publishers and year runs are not posted in the research source, so no unverified years should be assumed.

This collection can bridge a gap left by a current portal. A phone directory may place a name at an address, a tax assessment may tie that address to property, and a yearbook may link a student or staff member to a school. HeritageHub adds obituary and death-notice searching from 1704 to the present, while Ancestry Library Edition includes directories and other family-history sources through library WiFi.

Library channels vary by collection. Digital photographs and postcards from the 1860s onward are largely available through the Digital Archives. Papers of people, families, and organizations route through the archives and reference staff. Physical directories, yearbooks, and the in-library database call for a library visit or advance inquiry. Historical Windsor Directories by Era

Windsor's record history has a sharp divide. The community spent most of the twentieth century as an agricultural area known for wine grapes, hops, and prunes. Growth accelerated in the early 1980s, and Windsor incorporated on July 1, 1992. A person who lived here before incorporation may be easier to find in county tax rolls, school sources, phone directories, voter registrations, newspapers, or property records than in town files.

This comparison is more than a date check. Older Windsor records may not carry a Town of Windsor label at all. For deceased people, combine obituaries, probate indexes, and directories. Those sources can reveal relatives, old addresses, group ties, or a change in surname. They also help distinguish two people who shared a name. Current people directories answer who holds a role now; historical directories reconstruct where a person fit within an earlier Windsor community.
